Instant Spring

or 'Spring in a Box'. This little lot cost me 30 quid, but it was worth it. I NEEDED some signs of Spring, particularly around the front door to welcome us home from what are long days at work and school at the moment.

Looks like I planted them in the nick of time, because we have woken up to snow falling today. Dreary, wet snow, coming in on a raw wind. True winter seems to have been suspended since our December snowstorms. I'm hoping we don't have too much of a catch-up.

A little trip to the Garden Centre can be very therapeutic. £30 will seem like a small price to pay for the lasting pleasure those plants will provide in the weeks to come.
Just think, you could have spent the money on a meal out, that would be over in minutes! Hope the renewed snowfall is very temporary.

Don't you just love the colours in spring flowers, thay brighten up any day. Snow! It's very very cold at the minute in Ieland too and I believe some snow in the mountains. Let us know if the snow lies. Brrr.

I wish we used pounds instead of dollars here, just so I could use "quid". What a fabulous word. I think you were right to purchase all that lovely colour, what a lovely cheery greeting for you on coming home... I do hope it warms up for you soon, I detected a very slight coolness to the air this morning, and I am so not looking to winter on this side of the world!

Oh no, not more snow. We've had a huge downpour this morning and the wind is back too. Nothing like spring flowers to cheer us up though, I do love primroses.

Ah all the flowers are beautiful. A bit too early for here yet. But it won't be long. :-)

WoW Linda you really did find some spring. Great choices, so bright and colorful. I think I need to go find me some - everything just takes too long and of course I'll start seeing it down below and in town and we're about 2 weeks behind them. ;-( O'well at least if finally quit snowing. Sorry you're still getting it.

Oh, I love your "instant" garden--such pretty, delicate flowers. Time to get started planting some things. Yes, the housework may wait for several more days--other things just seem more important! Have a nice weekend. Mickie

So delightful your little blooms. My eyes hunger for such spring delights but no sign of winter letting go its grip yet. Even the stores don't have any forced bulbs (daffs, narcissus, hyacinths) to bring home and cheer up the house. Hope your weather is better than ours. The calendar says Spring soon, but the weatherman just shakes his head... *sigh*

oh what a breath of beauty in your flowers...will be quite a while yet before they are safe to set their roots in the frozen soil here!

Whatever gets you through the bumps of winter to spring is worth every penny - for a few pennies a day per bloom, you'll have weeks of joy to come.

This is just the picture I needed to see. My little pansies on the porch actually made it through our big, sustained freeze this winter but I'm pretty sure I need to buy a few more to keep them company.

Thank you for the inspiration.

It will look so wonderful around your door. You are a little ahead of us temperature wise but we will catch up. Beautiful shot of great flowers.
