Oh windfall apples, I have never ever seen a windfall apple. How romantic.
I watched Pride and Prejudice last night, I know, England not Scotland, but anyway, oh the countryside. It was just to die for. Great Britain holds such a fascination for Australians, much more than anywhere else I would say.
Mark, I LONG for some proper sun! Green Lane Allotments - I hadn't thought that it might be something suspicious in the birdseed... Craig, we're not growing the holly to eat! But the birds find them tasty. Ali, I love Pride and Prejudice, especially the BBC version with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. The ultimate feel-good thing to pop in the DVD player.
Love your photographs, I can feel the cold through the internet! We are cold and snowy too here in Arkansas, makes the house feel cozy though...I love the winter months since it's down time from busy summer. After a snowy start yesterday the sun popped out and it was glorius! Something about the sun just makes me feel cheerful....

I see what you mean - our berries are so different! :-)
Doesn't it just make you wish for a few days of warm sunshine???
We had more snow last week, but thankfully it didn't last long.
Mmm the downside of feeding the birds is the 'lawn' produced under feeders etc. Hope not grow into an illegal herb!
Our birds turn up thier noses at the grain too - I'm always having to clear it up!!
So many things that the snow covers. Hope you dont get many bad surprise crops.
First i've heard of holly berries? are they edible?
Craig, dykesedge allotment.

I like the apple photo and can see that little creatures have knawed on some of the apples. Birds can be fussy when it comes to eating seeds.
Of all the blogs I read, your photos are among my favorites.
