Now we have tomatoes for the first time since 2010, and these are volunteers out by the compost heap! Not much of a harvest, really, when compared to temperate area gardens, for sure, but we'll take what we can get. We did our summer traveling early on, so haven't missed a thing.clairzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12076402619649343527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617616424270708150.post-53833853220548153792013-09-11T20:58:49.399+01:002013-09-11T20:58:49.399+01:00We had one Blackcurrant bush on the old allotment ...We had one Blackcurrant bush on the old allotment which cropped magnificently every year.rather than making jam all at once we froze them in kilo bags. The year we had the big freeze up I was making blackcurrant jam! It was the sweet peas which suffered here whilst I was on holiday. I came home to plants full of seed pods, but after cutting them all off, the plants have gone on to produce more flowers.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17436932004631816039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617616424270708150.post-73736246998734231072013-09-05T13:23:35.054+01:002013-09-05T13:23:35.054+01:00Sooo good to see you posting again. Nothing glutting here this year, although the tomatoes are finally showing a decent crop allowing me to sauce & soup. Vacation? LOL I'm retired so this house/gardens IS my well-earned full-time vacation.Krishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17822528453563683772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617616424270708150.post-34572253808743094282013-09-03T08:24:10.625+01:002013-09-03T08:24:10.625+01:00I have only one square meter of vegetable/herb gar...I have only one square meter of vegetable/herb garden in my back yard with nothing in it this year! This is Belgiumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13717829942768478705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617616424270708150.post-64298559670681848492013-08-31T20:43:05.380+01:002013-08-31T20:43:05.380+01:00I have one blackcurrant bush. I know it's only one bush but . . . how many blackcurrants should one expect per bush? It's getting old. Could that be it?Esther Montgomeryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05412078991551799972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617616424270708150.post-77090220008700151512013-08-31T15:11:38.754+01:002013-08-31T15:11:38.754+01:00I'm lucky enough to have a team of 3 Garden He...I'm lucky enough to have a team of 3 Garden Helpers, who between them make sure that nothing is lost. If it came to the crunch, would sacrifice the Strawberries in favour of the Blackcurrants, on the basis that you can get decent Strawberries more or less throughout the Summer, but Blackcurrants are seldom available to buy.Mark Willishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04558305122821209520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617616424270708150.post-76498112210224179122013-08-31T14:46:28.464+01:002013-08-31T14:46:28.464+01:00Its been a fantastic season for growth on everythi...Its been a fantastic season for growth on everything.

A perfect summer.Scotkathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18247627996915575270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617616424270708150.post-1702933030107086232013-08-31T11:32:32.631+01:002013-08-31T11:32:32.631+01:00We went away in March so didn't miss anything ...We went away in March so didn't miss anything but we put off going away in September as things seemed as though they would be ready later.Sue Garretthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08164518448098182276noreply@blogger.com
